The San Blas church is the oldest parish of Cusco, and dates from 1563. It has an impressive pulpit that, according to many experts, constitutes the worlds finest wood carved piece, because from only a trunk of cedar they emerge, like by art of magic, angels, demons, saints, virgins and chimeras. It is belived that the author of this impressive work of art was the indigenous artist Juan Tomas Tuyritupa.
