Located at 40 km of Cusco. Andahuaylillas town is famous by its church, constructed in 1580 and well-known also as the “Sistine Chapel of Peru”. Its simple exterior contrasts with its colonial-baroque interiors: its golden altars, the famous wall painting of the paths to heaven and hell, its La Escuela Cusqueña paintings, its polychromic caisson ceiling and many other works of art. It is one of the preffered places for nuptial ceremonies for Cusco couples, after getting married, they approach the Andahuaylillas main square, crowned by enormous pisonay trees, to rise to the skay in air balloons.
